It is getting cooler (colder) in the latter half of October.
Looking around the farm on a clear autumn day, red and pink weed flowers are conspicuous. The red and pink weeds that grow in clusters all over the area are oriental lady’s thumb (akamanma) and polygonum thunbergii (konpeito-kusa).
There are also quite a few red dragonflies flying in the sky. The contrast between the blue sky and the red is quite pleasing.。

It grows in clusters in ditch marshes. It seems to be also called konpeito-kusa or bullfinch tai because of the shape of its flowers. It seems to be an edible weed.

It used to be called akamanma because it resembled red rice in play house. Akamanma is said to be the autumnal season word in haiku.

They seem to be numerous this year. Here is a video that makes it easy to understand the life of red goragonfly.

I went to Hakkaisan again this year. It was a cold day.

Cedar male flowers are hanging down. Next spring will be snotty. In the past, I made a cedar gun with these cedar flowers. The sound is smaller than a paper gun, but it has a nice sound.
