- Cleaning the chimney of the wood stove and bringing firewood to the deck to prepare for winter.
- Laying stones in a Dutch oven in the garden and making stone-baked sweet potatoes.
- Boiling snow crabs in an outdoor pot.
- Making bamboo charcoal for the garden.

We use firewood that has been dried for about two years.

Snow crabs are also a seasonal delicacy from now on.

I went to the firewalking ceremony at Hakkaisan Shrine. It was truly a grand ritual of fireplay.
