It was cold enough to need a fire just a few days ago, but today the temperature is over 30 degrees Celsius, and it feels as if the weather has become wildly unpredictable, skipping spring and shifting to midsummer.
Even so, various flowers are blooming and spring is in full bloom at Kawamata Farm.
The Sound of Spring 2 titles
The soil in the snow country has finally dried up and fields can be plowed by tractors. The sound of tractors here and there reminds us of spring. The sound of tractors everywhere reminds us of spring. Birds are also becoming more active and entering the season for raising their young. Even Kite, which the children have trained to fly, are gliding over Kawamata Farm with their cries.
Brassicaceae Flower
Not only rape blossoms, but komatsuna, Chinese cabbage, potherb mustard, mizuna, turnip, and red turnip all have yellow flowers. You probably cannot distinguish them from rape blossoms. If you look closely at the leaves and stems, you can tell the difference. Only daikon has light purple flowers. It is just like human beings that we resemble our parents when we get older, even though we were so different when we were young.
It used to be so noisy with the buzzing of bees on these flowers, but now it is a scene. It is truly Rachel Carson’s silent spring.

Tree flowers
Plum blossoms are over, and camellias, rhododendrons, snow willows, plums, and June berries are in bloom. Berries (blueberries, gooseberries, and blackberries) will follow.

Flowers in the garden
Here and there in the garden are daffodils, lily of the valley, tulips, dandelions, and strawberries.

Vegetables over the winter in the field
The beans, peas, onions, and garlic planted last early winter are growing reasonably well. Harvest will be from the end of May to June.
